Pop a water
Apr 30th, 2010 by admin

Many of us take water for granted. It’s difficult to appreciate something when in its purest form has no color, odor, or shape. Designer Hyun Ko promotes awareness and the significance of water by giving us a sweet juicy drink called Blooming Water. When your straw pierces a thin barrier holding the colored juice concentrate, it spills into the water forming clouds of color. For a brief moment, what looks still is actually always moving. Appreciate it.

Divide your tray food
Mar 17th, 2010 by admin

I am starting to lose sight of what is more important as we all try to move forward in the green movement. As global warming converges on us all, is conserving water or conserving trees more important? Can both these conservation efforts live harmoniously? Case in point: this design by Yang So-yeon called “Foldish”. It is a wonderfully thought out design that creates paper barriers for your meal, therefore eliminating the need for separate disposable dishes for each of your courses. According to the designer, this food tray helps conserve water, but I can’t help to wonder, what about the trees that died for this tray? And what about the Bothans that died bringing us this information? Discuss amongst yourselves.

Finger Stirrer
Feb 28th, 2010 by admin

If you ask me I’d say yes, but spoons and stirrers are there for a reason too. While you linger over the double meaning, let’s just grab some coffee in this special cup and imagine how we would stir in the milk and sugar if none of the above implements were at hand. With our fingers of course! And that too via its flexible lid; poke a finger through and get stirring mister! “Finger Coffee” Anyone?

I move a lot
Sep 3rd, 2009 by admin

My kitchen, that is. Like, I want it here in the middle of my dining room; instead of a table….but Chris Burns says it will look funky by the deck. Long Tran wants me to place it aesthetically next to the bar in the living room (he’s a designer you know). Takashi couldn’t care a less about where I place it, as long as I cook him a decent meal! Well, a “Moving Kitchen” is possible, and quite a functional one at that. Small in size, it’s got an induction cooking space, folded tables that double up as work-area plus plenty of room to store some kitchen essentials. Excellent for singles.

Japanese Modern Tea Table
Jul 4th, 2009 by admin

A tea table designed for a new age of lose leaf tea drinkers to sit, sip, store, and share. The Teable has a compartment covered with a serving tray. You can store your favorite tea trappings and accessories underneath. Teable was inspired by Japanese tea ceremonies, focusing on how tea is plated, made, and served. There’s a celebratory theme through-out emphasizing the social aspect of enjoying tea. And when you’re not drinking tea, it makes a bad ass table to play that good ole’ college game “Bullsh*t!” Who remembers that game?!?!

P.S. Pass the Salt and Pepper
May 17th, 2009 by admin

You’re a fine cook! You can even put the great likes of Anthony Bourdain to shame. I suggest you even take over Kylie Kwong’s show. And I’m sure Jamie Oliver and Nigella can shove their Brit Pies in the oven for good, coz you’re the next star at Hell’s Kitchen! And before you take a long walk off a short cliff, just remember to pass me some SALT & PEPPER! Coz you may be the finest cook in the world, but “P. S.” I like my dishes spiced to my taste. Post Dot Scriptum Dot!

S&H Uniform
Apr 29th, 2009 by admin

I had an experience about opening a cafe and maybe for most of you who has a place that oblige the staff to wear a certain uniform. The first struggle is the design, and the other thing is: ‘Where to get it done?’. One thing we should be thankful is because there is S&H Uniforms where they have wide selection of uniform from the apron, chef’s apparel, career, casual wear, EMS wear, foot wear, formal wear, medical uniforms, postal wear, outer wear, restaurant wear, safety wear & first aid, table cloth and linens, work wear and many others. One to be highlighted is their chef uniforms, as they have many selection, even you don’t even know that there are more design for chef’s apparels. You should check this one step before you are going further on the management.

After we are able to choose the best uniform, the end of our company’s spear, we will need to focus on our management. Where there is a good place to consider about how to change management tools. With their experience along with their high pitched portfolio (big brand name), we can be assured to walk firmly to the future and knowing for sure that our company will be able to strive ahead. One of the great materials is their leadership development and business education.

For extra leisure after the hard work, there is also a great travel suggestion they mention in Hotel Amsterdam. It’s a great place to look around, don’t pass it, visit soon.

Blow Mouse
Apr 25th, 2009 by admin

The Jelly Click takes mouse portability to the extreme. All the electronic circuity lives on a small flexible board. The body itself is just soft plastic. Whenever you need a mouse, blow up the Jelly Click, attach the USB cable and you’re good to go.  As a bonus, it’s a total floaty for you swimming challenged people.

I bet that this is the smallest mouse ever, unless they make it any smaller inflatable.

Knife Hooks
Apr 12th, 2009 by admin

The Knife Hooks are designed by TC Studio, a studio owned by industrial designer Tianyi Chang. The Knife Hooks are easy to install, simply screw the hooks into the wall and you’ll have a very funny way to hang your clothes. They are available in matte black only. But I think maybe they should also make the one with the metallic finish to make it even more realistic. Dare to throw a real knife on your wall?
